KANGAROO CROSSING SIGN
One of the first road signs we saw was the iconic kangaroo crossing sign. When I saw this I was really excited and the following day, rest assured we saw wild kangaroos at a golf course. A little like driving along on Bowen Island and seeing deer on the side of the road or in a park but better because they are kangaroos!

ROUNDABOUTS!
Roundabouts are extremely common for drivers in Australia. They are an excellent and efficient way of moving traffic instead of the four way stop intersection. As long as everyone knows how to approach and enter the intersection these roundabouts are superior!

STAINLESS STEEL BBQ COOKERS
At most pincic areas there are these propane or electric stainless steel cookers that are available to the public. They are excellent and well maintained. We definitely took advantage and used these cookers to make many a hot meal from hamburgers, french toast and steak meals to mention a few. Birch was often our designated cook.
Thank you Birch we all loved your signature French Toast that you got down to a fine art.

AUSTRALIAN POSTAL WORKERS ON MOPEDS
As soon as you get outside the big cities you see these flourescent moped postal riders delivering the mail. They drive across lawns, over sidewalks and beyond to get that mail delivered. This postal worker happily posed for a photo as he was stopped sorting his mail before delivery.

TREES WITH COLOURFUL BLOSSOMS
Throughout Australia, there were many trees with beautiful bright blossoms, the purple Jacaronda trees in the south around Sydney and these reddish orange blossoms north of Brisbane
